Color it real training
Color It Real is a culturally relevant, age-appropriate, 6-session prevention program curriculum designed to decrease risky sexual behavior, substance use, and perceived stress levels. The Color It Real Project is an evidence-based HIV/AIDS and Substance Abuse program.
It was designed to serve African-American heterosexual males and females, ages 18-24, who are enrolled in college or attend community programs.
Color It Real (CIR) Purpose
Reduce substance use and misuse,
Reduce the onset and the transmission of HIV,
Increase coping skills,
Teach African-American History
Teach cultural relevance of Hip Hop Music
Color It Real (CIR) Project is designed to empower young adults to:
Recognize and control triggers for risky sexual situations
Make healthy choices
Improve social skills, assertiveness, and coping skills
Learn effective problem-solving skills
Build positive relationships
Learn stress reduction skills
