PEACE PROJECT.

The PEACE PROJECT is an in-school suspension program for youth who are suspended for violent behaviors. The project provides training and services in conflict resolution, peer mediation, stress management and peace education. Training is also provided for school personnel and parents.

The PEACE PROJECT provides student with an alternative to suspension through mandatory participation in a nine (9) hour Peace Education Skills Training Program.

  • To teach students positive social skills to reduce violence in their lives.

  • To equip students with coping skills that promote peace and wellness.

  • To reduce repeated suspensions of at-risk students due to interpersonal violence and violence-related conflicts.

  • To train educators how to incorporate violence prevention and intervention strategies in the classroom settings.

  • To teach parents coping skills and strategies to reduce violence and conflict in the home.
