Abstinence and Violence Prevention Program

The Hype-A Club is designed to promote sexual abstinence as tbe best decision young people can make for themselves.

Goals and Objectives

The goal of the Hype-A Club is to reduce teenage preganacy and increase knowledge of secually transmitted diseases while further developing the coping and conflict resolution skills of the students.

Objective #1:

100% of program participants will remain free of pregancy or fathering a child while participating in the program

Objective #2:

100% of program participants will be able to define abstinence education by the end of the program year

Objective #3:

75% of program participants will be able to implement refusal skills by the close of the program year

Objective #4:

75% of program participants will complete the abstinence program

Objective #5:

50% of program participants will pledge to remain abstinent until marriage

Objective #6:

90% of program participants will participate in monthly Abstinence Campaign Activities

The Hype-A Club will motivate by:
  • Moving teens into action
  • Teaching refusal skilles and techniques
  • Visualizing a healthy future
  • Encouraging peers to ignore pressure
  • Organizing support groups & activites
  • Improving parent-teen communication
  • Abstaining from sexual intercourse
  • Transforming behavior patterns
