What is the PEACE PROJECT?The PEACE PROJECT is an in-school suspension program for youth who are suspended for violent behaviors. The project provides training and services in conflict resolution, peer mediation, stress management and peace education. Training is also provided for school personnel and parents.
The PEACE PROJECT provides student with an alternative to suspension through mandatory participation in a nine (9) hour Peace Education Skills Training Program.
Location:The project is conducted in an Middle School in Atlanta, Georgia.
Operational Hours:The program operates on-site five days per week, Monday through Friday from 9:00AM until 3:00PM.
What PEACE PROJECT offers...The PEACE PROJECT is a comprehensive interactive curriculum program which utilizes a curriculum that include lectures, video, exercises, group discussions and role playing.
The core curriculum consists of:
Peer Mediation training is offered as an additional 15-hour course to selected students.
Follow-up:Students receive a follow-up visit once returning to the classroom.
Training and Replication:The PEACE PROJECT can be replicated in schools or other community settings.
